Decision Making
We help athletes improve their decision making on the court, field and ice. The ability to make quick correct decisions is learned through hours and hours of diligent practice. When athletes work hard in practice decisions occur with little or no thought. Stress can reduce our ability to make clear and effective decisions and creates over thinking. Sources of stress can come from a variety of internal and external factors. These factors include, but are not limited to personal anxiety, excessive emotionality, and problems with interpersonal relationships.
We help clients recognize the sources of stress and give them tools to quickly reduce the symptoms that get in the way of performance in areas such as:
- Shooting (basketball, hockey, lacrosse etc.)
- Passing (football, basketball, hockey, soccer)
- Strike zone recognition in baseball
- Pattern recognition (fencing)
- Tactical strategy
